The Arvada Urban Renewal Authority (AURA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Carrie Briscoe as its new Executive Director, effective April 1. Briscoe, who has been with AURA since 2015, has steadily advanced through the organization, most recently serving as Deputy Director. Her deep commitment to AURA’s mission and extensive experience make her ideally positioned to lead the organization as it continues to shape the future of Arvada.

Over the past decade, Briscoe has been instrumental in AURA’s success, contributing to key urban renewal projects that have revitalized Arvada’s core. In addition to her hands-on experience, she earned a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado Denver, which has further enhanced her expertise in planning and development. “Carrie excels in partnering with our developers and finding solutions to very complicated real estate issues,” said Maureen Phair, AURA’s long-time and retiring Executive Director. “Her knowledge spans finance, legal, planning, and real estate development, making her the perfect choice for the role. With her institutional knowledge, the transition will be seamless.”
Briscoe’s background includes experience working with architects, engineers, and construction companies, giving her a unique skill set that aligns with AURA’s goals. As the new Executive Director, Briscoe is excited to build upon the organization’s successes, continuing to foster collaboration across sectors to support sustainable growth in Arvada. “Arvada is more than just where I work—it’s where I’ve raised my family and where my heart is,” said Briscoe. “I’m honored to serve in this new role, and I’m committed to helping Arvada thrive through continued collaboration and impactful urban renewal projects.”
