Marriott Residence Inn

The Marriott Residence Inn opened its doors in February 2024. The hotel is one block south of Olde Town and part of a larger revitalization of a former RTD Park-n-Ride.

The hotel is part of a transit-oriented, mixed-use development that includes The Russell, a 252-unit apartment building, and Shops at Olde Town Station. Hotel Guests will be able to take advantage of the highly walkable historic district bringing new guests to the important commercial district.

The new Marriott Residence Inn will support activity along 56th Avenue and Vance Street, using dual entrances, courtyards, and outdoor gathering spaces to create connectivity and movement between the shops, Arvada’s transit hub, Olde Town, and the adjacent neighborhoods.

The Raymond Management Company used a creative L-shaped design to overcome site-specific challenges. The design allowed the hotel to be built around an easement that prevented building a structure above a 6-foot wide storm line running diagonally through part of the property.

Beyond the hotel service, the Marriott’s construction benefits the entire community by fostering a more accessible and interconnected neighborhood by creating improved sidewalks and other improvements.

“Infill developments like the Marriott are great for the community,” said Maureen Phair, AURA’s executive director. “We took a vacant parking lot, in an important part of Arvada, and upgraded the local infrastructure. It also reduced the need for urban sprawl. The sustainable approach to development contributes to a more cohesive and vibrant community.”

This is the second hotel AURA has shepherded to the area. For many years, Arvada did not have a hotel in this key historic district. Then, in 2017 AURA brought the Hilton Garden Inn to Arvada. With the hotel’s success, it became clear that Arvada needed another hotel to bring additional guests and anchor an economic hub along Wadsworth.
