Alley Utility Undergrounding

AURA is working with the City of Arvada and Xcel to more overhead electric and telecommunication lines underground in the alley between Olde Wadsworth and Yukon Street, from Ralston Road to Grandview Avenue. Underground electric lines improve service reliability for residents and businesses while reducing weather and hazard related risk. 

This project aligns with the 2023 Olde Town Strategic Reinvestment Plan by upgrading utility infrastructure to improve safety, cleanliness, and the visual appearance of the alley. The City of Arvada is using the Xcel 1% fund to move transmission lines underground while AURA is funding the lateral connections to individual properties in the area. The project is currently underway and is anticipated to be finished in the Fall of 2026.
