Adapted from the Arvada Press dated September 22, 2022
A new park is coming to Arvada and the Arvada City Council wants to hear from you! Naming this new park is an opportunity to create a welcoming public space that can educate, celebrate and inspire the community. The City, in collaboration with the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority, identified the opportunity to construct a new linear park within the Garrison Street corridor, between W. 57th Avenue/Ralston Road and W. 58th Avenue, in the Ralston Fields Urban Renewal Area. This new park directly aligns with and contributes to the City Council’s Strategic Result of completing strategic investments and initiatives to ensure parks, trails, open space, and amenities are in alignment with our diverse, changing, and growing community.
The Arvada parks Advisory Committee (APAC) has selected three proposed names for the new linear park located on Garrison Street between Ralston Road and W. 57th Avenue and submitted the following name recommendations to Council during a City Council presentation on July 18, 2022:
On October 3, 2022, the Arvada City Council will vote on a name for the new park.
