The southern entrance to Arvada via Wadsworth Boulevard was dramatically changed in the 1980s and 1990s. AURA worked to attract many major retailers to Arvada including Costco, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Office Max, Petsmart, Lowe’s, Starbucks, and Texas Roadhouse to name a few. Prior to revitalization, the area was home to used car lots, a lumber yard, a run-down motel, and numerous neglected houses and apartments.
In addition, AURA participated in the construction of Olde Wadsworth Boulevard from Grandview Avenue to the Wadsworth Bypass, designed and constructed the landscaped medians in Wadsworth Bypass, and remediated over $800,000 in gas stations, service stations, and contaminated buildings. Today, this power center produces over $30 million annually for the various tax entities. These additions are continuing to thrive and attract shoppers and guests from outside of Arvada bringing in valuable sales and property tax revenue.
