Today the Arvada Fire Protection District is using the former Arvada Square shopping center on Ralston Road for training. Participants will be seen in and around the property throughout the day, and some of the exercises may involve loud noises and the presence of smoke. Where possible, the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority works with local police, fire, and protection districts to utilize decommissioned buildings for training.
