Before Arvada Ridge
The former Ridge Home Hospital contained over 50 dilapidated and abandoned buildings. Over time this abandoned campus became an unsafe haven for crime and the homeless.
After Arvada Ridge
The Arvada Urban Renewal Authority (AURA) began the eagerly awaited process of redeveloping the former Ridge Home site. It is currently being transformed into a transit-oriented, mixed-use retail and residential community. The 68-acre site is being developed in three phases.
Phase One: Consists of the Arvada Ridge Market Place, a 260,000 sq. ft. retail development anchored by a Super Target, that opened in 2005.
Phase Two: Construction is underway on a 380 unit apartment neighborhood. The 15-acre site is located just north of the Super Target Center, but more importantly, this development is located near the Gold Line's transit station - future residents will be able to walk out their door and catch the commuter train.
Phrase Three: Future plans include a mixed-use retail and residential development.
